The other morning I'd gone outside to have my first cup of coffee before feeding the cats and getting ready for work.
As I looked across the street I saw flames.
Earlier in the evening there had been a smaller fire in the same location. Earlier it seems to have been a debris fire in the storage yard of the mobile home community.
This was totally different, though. As I sat watching, it grew in size, almost doubled in about three minutes. I decided I had better call 911 and report it. The lite winds were driving the smoke in our direction with a lot of hot embers. Thankfully, others in the vicinity had been awakened by the smoke and called too.
Within a few minutes the fire trucks arrived. In less than 30 minutes the fire was out and the fire department was moping up hot spots using their high intensity lights. It seemed almost daylight though it was still very dark outside.
Rumor has it, there was a burned out car on site which could have started the fire. The mobile home was completely destroyed. I can only hope if there was anyone living there, they escaped without injury, because I have not heard any other information regarding the fire.
